Following Lichfield’s JW Hunt Cup midweek postponement against Atherstone Town, the squad will be eager to get back to winning ways, as they take on managerless NKF Burbage tomorrow (Sat).

Manager Jamie Hawkins added, “everyone has trained hard and champing at the bit to get back at it”, as the squad look to continue their impressive league form.

Lichfield, sitting one place off of top spot will be eager to close the gap on fellow promotion hopefuls Leicester road.

But, with unpredictable weather and plenty of winter postponements, it’s important to keep looking forward as the games come thick and fast.

Manager Hawkins will be satisfied with his sides victory against Coventry Copsewood last time out, but adds it is crucial his side “maintain good shape and discipline off the ball”.

The team have been training hard all week, as they look to improve at both ends of the field. Hawkins believes “we can be better defensively”, but adds it’s important for his side to find the right balance, as they look to express themselves in attacking areas.

Lichfield will be hoping it is goals galore at The City Ground, in a fixture known for its excitement in recent years.

Hopefully they will be at the right end for Hawkins’ men, as Lichfield aim to make it back-to-back league wins.
