Lichfield City return to action following an inspiring 2-0 home win against fellow promotion hopefuls Uttoxeter Town.

The three points saw Jamie Hawkins men leapfrog the away side, moving up to fourth in the table.
The manager said: “The wind played its part but I thought we were deserving winners on the day both with and against the wind.”

With numerous games in hand to play for many sides, the league still has some twists and turns yet.

Lichfield only played Rocester around ten days ago so it should be a much different game this time around against a familiar opposition.

The pitch made it difficult for the lads last time out, but with the tie being at home, Lichfield will be looking to right their wrongs as they narrowly lost 2-1 last time round.

Following last Saturday’s excellent result, Hawkins will be hoping his side make it back-to-back home wins.

“The objective is to now follow that up with another positive result today and continue our search for consistency,” added Hawkins.

With the business end of the season approaching, Lichfield will be hoping for the start of something special.
Hawkins believes this top four dream is achievable. He said: “If we can string a run of positive results together then we can definitely stay in touch with the pack.”
