Lichfield City have been handed two home ties in today’s draws for the Emirates FA Cup and Buildbase FA Vase.

In the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round, Jay Hawkins’ men will host Midland League Premier Division side Highgate United at the City Ground on Saturday 10 August.

The winners of the tie will go on to face Haughmond or Walsall Wood in the Preliminary Round proper on Saturday 24 August.

Lichfield City qualified for the sought-after spot in the FA Cup by finishing fourth in Midland League Division One in 2018/19 .

In the FA Vase First Qualifying Round, Lichfield City face a home tie against another Midland League Premier Division side in Birmingham-based Romulus on Saturday 31 August. The winners will face Wolverhampton Casuals or Bilston Town in the next round.

Lichfield City boss Jay Hawkins said: “The FA Cup and FA Vase are great competitions and we are pleased to get two good home draws.

“We look forward to welcoming Highgate United and Romulus to Brownsfield Road for what will hopefully be well-attended fixtures.”

The draw means Hawkins’ men will play out a dress rehearsal for the FA Vase fixture against Romulus when the sides meet in a pre-season friendly in Lichfield on Saturday 20 July.
