Ivor Green says he’s excited by the challenge that awaits him at Midland League One side Lichfield City and says he’s in it for the ‘long haul’ after being announced as the club’s new manager.

The former Atherstone Town boss, who replaces Jamie Hawkins, has a strong reputation locally and has enjoyed success at Midland League One level.

He led the Adders to three cup final victories, including retaining the Birmingham Midweek Floodlit Cup.

Now he’s back in the game and said: “I wasn’t looking to get back in the game really but this opportunity at Lichfield was too good to pass up.

“As a club it has everything in place to kick on. There’s a first-class set-up here.

“There are a lot of kids teams and an academy. There’s a fantastic 3G pitch. the facilities are some of the best around.

“There are passionate people running the  club, who really sold it to me.”
